Are the Matterhorn hunting bibs quiet when moving in the cold? - The Matterhorn is 100% waterproof with taped seams. It is created to be as quiet as possible given limitations of waterproof garment construction. If you don’t need full waterproof protection, just water resistant, the Kenora from our SilentX line of clothing is the most comparable garment to the Matterhorn.
Do I need to order a size larger to have room for layering? - No, you do not have to order a bigger size. We design all of our clothing to “size up” with you for layering going from lightweight to heavyweight garments. For example, if you wear an XL pant or bib for early season, you will only need an XL for late season, cold weather hunts.
Does the Matterhorn work for bowhunting? - Yes, the Matterhorn bibs are great for bowhunting. The Matterhorn has been a the reason for bowhunters’ success nation-wide. With the lack of bulk from the Heat Boost sherpa fleece, you get all the warmth you need to stay on stand, without being weighed down on mobile hunts.
How much do I need to layer underneath the Matterhorn to get to -10F? - Our temperature ratings follow our System Builder - from base layers to outer jackets. Each hunter’s cold tolerance is different, but a safe bet is to follow the system for full temperature rating coverage.
