Men's Elkins Midweight, Windproof, Soft Shell, Grid-Fleece-Interior Hunting Bibs - Vertek®
Elkins Bibs
Recommended temperature range of 35F to 55F, with proper layering.
Windproofing - without the weight.
Built with flexibility in mind, the Elkins hunting bibs in Vertek have every feature you need to take on the Fall. With a 100% windproof construction, these bibs offer midweight warmth from September's opening weekends to November's all day sits.
The exterior is a soft, quiet fleece we call In-Velvet that muffles noise and adds exterior warmth. Treated with a durable water repellent (DWR) finish, it also sheds rain and light moisture. The grid fleece interior is soft against your skin on warmer days, but easily slides over other insulating layers when the temperature drops.
Waterproof abrasion patches on the knees and seat make these bibs perfect for cooler days of spot and stalk hunting, while the two-way leg zippers allow you to vent your legs to dump heat, and take the bibs on and off while wearing boots.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Are the Elkins hunting bibs quiet for bowhunting?
- Yes, the Elkins were designed with the quiet, stealthy bowhunter in mind. The In-Velvet fleece exterior muffles noises from moving on stand or drawing your bow. - Can I wear the Elkins bibs in below-freezing temperatures?
- Yes, with extra layering. The Elkins is mainly designed for 35F-55F weather, but being 100% windproof, it blocks cold winds from penetrating. It’s not insulated enough on its own to get below freezing, but by layering up underneath, bowhunters across the country have filled their tags with temperatures in the 20’s. - Do I need to order a size larger to allow for extra layers?
- No, we design all of our bibs to fit larger for colder temperature ranges. This means that if you wear an XL for lightweight garments, you would continue to wear an XL in our midweight and heavyweight garments. - What layers are needed to utilize the full temperature range of the Elkins bibs?
- Our layering system follows our System Builder - base layers to outer layers. Each hunter’s cold tolerance is different, so your needs might vary. But by following the four stages of base layers, mid-layers, insulation layers, and outer layers, you can be sure to get the full advertised temperature range.
