A proper clothing system needs to span from the hottest of weather to the coldest of temperatures. We have the exact same feel on how we treat the different types of fleeces we put in our garments. You want to have lightweight, breathable fleece garments that wick away sweat and moisture, midweight fleeces for warmth and insulation layers, and heavyweight high-pile fleeces meant for trapping warm air staying on stand longer.
The lightest weight fleece that we offer is our grid fleece that you can find inside of our Shelton hoodie. The Shelton’s waffle grid fleece allows for superior breathability, wicking, and is meant for those warmer temps. When you start getting down into the 50s and 60s, it'll still work for warmth, but it is not bonded to a windproof film, and it will only offer that level of warmth until you can't tolerate the cold anymore. Also being highly wicking and breathable, it makes a great insulation layer when the weather turns cold, but you don't want to add a whole bunch of bulk.
Stepping up in warmth but still staying with a lightweight low-pile fleece is the Grayling hoodie. This is a Heat Boost bonded fleece which means we've taken our graphene Heat Boost technology, and we knitted it into a low pile fleece. This allows the garment to stay very flexible, very easy to insulate with, and it to use it as a layering piece when the weather turns cold. The Grayling does offer greater standalone warmth, unlike the Shelton’s knit exterior, we have a soft-shell exterior in the Grayling hoodie. It doesn't offer complete wind proofing, but it helps with wind blocking and wind resistance.
Our Heat Boost graphene high-pile sherpa fleece has graphene yarn knitted right into the fabric. You can find our Heat Boost sherpa fleece on many of the heavyweight, cold weather insulated jackets, pants, and bibs. Current lineup offerings are the Saskatoon and Matterhorn jackets, pant, vest, and bibs. Graphene sherpa is the highest pile and warmest fleece that we do make across our heavyweight lineup. It still has a lot of odor neutralizing abilities with the graphene technology and it's also still quite wicking - although not as breathable as the Grayling or Shelton due to the higher pile of the fleece. If you need to stay warm, Heat Boost graphene sherpa fleece leads your way across our heavyweight hunting jackets, pants, vests, and bibs.
